CYRANO DE BERGERAC
By Edmond Rostand Translated
and adapted by Anthony Burgess
Following the great success of our
Summer Touring The Revenger’s Tragedy, we are now starting work on
our biennial visit to the world-famous open-air cliff-top Minack
Theatre in Cornwall in August 2011.
The production will be the Anthony Burgess
translation and adaptation of Edmond Rostand’s 19th-century French
classic Cyrano de Bergerac, about the swordsman-poet with a nose
too large to be taken seriously. This adaptation was first acclaimed
in the famous Royal Shakespeare Company’s 1985 production with Derek
Jacobi as Cyrano.
The playing dates at the Minack Theatre in Cornwall
will be Monday 1st – Friday
5th August 2011, and if you would like to be added to the ‘Friends
of Shattered Windscreen’ emailing list, and therefore receive details
of all future productions, please let us know via info@shatteredwindscreen.co.uk
